Looking to Hire- Boat Fitter, Full Time

Port Phillip Boating Centre is looking for an energetic and friendly person to join our team in the area of boat fit ups. Based in Point Cook, we are agents for Haines Hunter Boats, Yamaha Outboards and Mackay Trailers, accessories and servicing of all brands of outboards, as well as second hand boat sales and repairs.

Tasks will include:

• Engine fit ups including installation, removal of old motors, and testing of motors fitted to new and used boats.
• Fit up of electronic and accessories including installation and testing.
• Fit up of other accessories such as Deck Wash, Toilets, Trim Tabs etc as required
• Assisting with customer queries regarding boat accessories and electronics where practical
• Liaise with other departments to ensure that all required parts/accessories are ordered in the required timeframe and to ensure that the stock for each boat is available when required.
• Liaise with the workshop foreman on a daily basis for general day to day running of jobs
• Basic boat cleaning and detailing, moving of boats and motors
• Other duties as required, including pickup and delivery of parts and/or equipment

The following skills are required:

• General electrical and mechanical knowledge
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain open communications
• Reliability and honesty
• Ability to work the occasional overtime
• Forklift licence would be an advantage
• Knowledge of boats and/or outboards
• Customer service skills

Depending on demand, there will be the occasional times were flexibility in work hours is required. This position is a full time position. On the job training will be provided, however skills in the area of boat fit-ups will be an advantage.
